The tabla drum is a percussion instrument originally used in Hindustani classical music and in the popular and devotional music of India. The instrument consists of a pair of hand drums of contrasting sizes and timbres. They are fun to play by hitting each drum with various parts of the hand to produce different sounds. This instrument was designed to allow more complex sounds and rhythm structures to be produced to accompany certain types of Indian vocal music.

The smaller drum of this pair is wooden and the larger is metal, both with thong tensioning. This product is supplied complete with padded carry bag and seat rings.
